Saturday evening we arrived at Karen's cousins place at Crowley Lake near Mammoth Lakes on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada's. Located up at 7000ft with only 7% humidity, the air was crisp and dry. The hummingbirds fluttered around as the boys watched out for scorpions and rattlers in the bushes while they threw the ball in the street. This high desert area with its tussock type grasses and small pebbles was surrounded by huge mountains streaked in various colours.
The next day we toured many of the lakes in the Mammoth Area gaining heights of nearly 11000ft and again enjoying the magnificent scenery. Nigel & Gail made sure we were well feed and watered and we had such a great time we hope to catch up with them down in Vegas later on in the trip.
